Treatment Program

Our program aims to connect individuals to the appropriate level of treatment for their substance use and mental health co-occurring needs, with the goal of improving their overall quality of life and reducing the likelihood of hospitalization. This, in turn, promotes successful adaptation to community living. The program will include:

  • Individualized Services: Each person is unique with his/her own needs, skills, culture, and aspirations. Services are stage-based and incorporate best practices. Each person is encouraged and empowered to establish recovery goals, assess skills and abilities, identify resources, and develop and implement plans relevant to his/her desires, needs and preferences.

  • Choices and Responsibility: Each person is empowered to see that they have choices and to take responsibility for directing their own recovery. Staff respect the autonomy of each person and work in a collaborative effort.

  • Family Integration: Strengthening relationships within the person's own family is encouraged to the greatest extent possible.

  • Skill Development: ABOUND Substance Treatment Center Residential Program provides skill development and provides consumers the ability to learn and work in the larger community.

  • Drug Free Living: A holistic program of recovery is offered to help each person achieve a lifestyle free of drug and alcohol dependence.

  • Recovery Journey: Recovery is an individual's way of living a satisfying, hopeful, and independent life. ABOUND SA Treatment Center staff will model, support, and follow each person's recovery journey toward wellness encompassing the emotional and physical facets of life.

Program Outline

The program outline of Abound Substance Abuse Treatment Center Residential Program includes the following components:

  1. Intake and Assessment: Upon admission, individuals undergo a comprehensive assessment to gather information about their medical history, substance use patterns, mental health concerns, and personal goals.

  2. Individualized Treatment Planning: Based on the assessment, a personalized treatment plan is developed in collaboration with the individual. This plan outlines specific goals, interventions, and timelines for their recovery journey.

  3. Individual Counseling: One-on-one counseling sessions are conducted with a licensed therapist to address underlying issues, develop coping skills, and work towards achieving personal goals.

  4. Group Therapy: Group therapy sessions are facilitated by trained professionals, providing individuals with the opportunity to share experiences, gain support, and learn from others facing similar challenges.

  5. Family Therapy: Family therapy sessions are offered to involve and educate family members about addiction and mental health, improve communication, and strengthen the support system for the individual in treatment.

  6. Psychoeducation: Educational workshops and classes are provided to enhance understanding of addiction, mental health, relapse prevention, and healthy coping strategies

  7. Nutritional Education and Counseling: Individuals receive education and counseling on the importance of nutrition in supporting their overall well-being and recovery. This includes guidance on healthy eating habits, meal planning, and addressing any specific dietary needs.

  8. Case Management - Continuum of Care: Case managers work closely with individuals to coordinate their care and ensure a seamless transition between different levels of treatment. They assist in connecting individuals with appropriate resources and support services both during and after their residential program.

  9. Peer Recovery Coach: The recovery coach promotes a recovery-based approach to member care with an emphasis on respect, self-direction, and empowerment by providing peer support, personal assistance, education on community resources, and other supportive services for individuals with a substance abuse disorder (SUD)

  10. Residential Housing Referrals: For individuals who require housing support, referrals are provided to help them find safe and stable residential options that align with their recovery goals.

  11. Financial Counseling: Financial counseling services are available to assist individuals in managing their financial responsibilities and exploring options for financial assistance or insurance coverage for their treatment.

  12. Legal Counseling Referrals: Referrals are made to legal counseling services for individuals who may require assistance with legal matters related to their substance use or mental health.

  13. Spiritual Counseling: On-site spiritual counseling is offered to individuals who desire support in exploring and nurturing their spiritual beliefs and practices as part of their recovery journey.

  14. Additionally, transportation is provided to individuals for off-site programs or appointments that are part of their treatment plan. This ensures that individuals have access to necessary services and support.

Persons receiving services at ABOUND SUD treatment center are offered a wide range of vocational, educational, living and social opportunities to assist them in improving their skills, self-esteem, and sense of belonging to the community. These services are provided within a framework of operating principles that promote psychiatric rehabilitation, wellness and recovery: hope, individualized services, choices and responsibilities, family integration, skill development, drug free living and recovery journey.

This includes individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and alternative therapies such as art therapy and yoga.
